Woke up late and grouchy. Blah. Showered, received notification that the meeting to end the thing I've been working on for what feels like forever is cancelled. Again.
And The Cislyn was most wroth.
But wait! There's more! Talked a bit with
panthermoth, and we finally settled on a place for lunch! Wheee - much Chinese food and good conversation ensued, until I had to send her packing to avoid the horrible demons of rush hour. It had been literally years since I'd seen her in person (equal parts naughty and busy both of us) and it was refreshing. Every once in a while it's good to get a reminder that y'all are more than dots on the screen. Not that I think that, but still. ;)
I proceeded forthwith to purchase the following things: an icecream cake from the Carvel store, because, dammit, I wanted one to celebrate stuff; the song "the sign" from the iTunes store (and there was much grooving); and um... well, that's it. But they were two incredibly smiley-making purchases, and noteworthy for that alone.
Mmmm. Icecream cake.
My grandmother used to make icecream cake in the summer, via some arcane process that I cannot begin to fathom. I remember that it involved crushing oreos, though. Heh.
I am feeling good. No, scratch that. I am feeling great. It's a gorgeous day, I start working on Monday doing something I think will work out to be incredibly nifty, I have icecream, the cat isn't trying to eat my head, I had a nice day despite various forces working against it - ahhhh. And now I'm going to go enjoy it, while it lasts. :)
