i've got to be at work soon, but i can't stand just seeing my whining as the last entry. so, things are good - all errands scheduled for yesterday successfully accomplished. i learned more about that thing i needed to learn more about, and, since it's not real solid yet there's no need for major life changes. i think it'll actually work out pretty darn well, all things told.

oh, and my desk came yesterday! yaaay! and it wasn't assembled, which i'd hoped it would be. booo. so we spent quite a few hours putting it together, and now it rocks. a lot. and it's got a built in kitty shelf. seriously! i'll post a picture of the world's happiest cat sitting on the built in kitty shelf later. now i've got to dash. hope these damned sniffles go away, because otherwise, i'm feeling fantastic. :)

Latin Can Be Fun: A Modern Conversational Guide by Georg Capellanus and Technology in the Ancient World by Henry Hodges. Two books, both bargain books, but man, I really don't have the space for 'em or the time to really read 'em. Still... ~looks at books~ ~grins~ I wuuuuv books. Especially ones that have phrases like "immo sistat, nam plus, quam satis est, profluit" and "nulla re melius exercentur omnes corporis partes quam globis ligneis mittendis" ** and books with drawings of Egyptian and Mesopotamian measurement systems.

** anybody who translates those two (or hell, even one of 'em closely) gets a genuine edward gorey christmas card valentine from yours truly. how's that for incentive to crack open the ol' latin-english dictionary, eh?
