I slept in too late. I have to be at work at 1:30, which leaves me very little time to be at home today. Fah.
Work last night was good, though. I felt kind of ucky, but my manager bought lunch for myself, the other manager on duty, and the other lead. Mmmm chili's. And I had a nice conversation with a couple of customers - fantasy fans, easy to talk to, and I got the guy hooked on A Song of Ice and Fire. Heh. I love spreading good books. I invited him to the fantasy discussion group in February... speaking of which...
There's a fantasy/sci-fi discussion group at Barnes & Noble now! It started out as just a Tolkien group, but has evolved a bit. The topic for February is: Urban Fantasy - Finding the Fey in the Everyday. Suggested reading is _Neverwhere_ by Neil Gaiman and/or _Dreams Underfoot_ by Charles deLint. The time is February 16th at 7ish, and the place is Barnes & Noble at Brier Creek. Come, have some treats from the café, meet fellow fantasy fans, and have a good conversation on a fairly interesting topic. There may be time for dinner and a movie afterwards, even!
I would say "come meet me and..." but I won't actually be there. The 16th is our anniversary. That's so weird... I can't believe we've been married for 3 years now. Time, it flies by.
Anyhow, we're also reading _The Phantom Tollbooth_ for the classics book group, and we'll be discussing that on February 19th at 7:30ish. So yeah, come see me. And read the book, you'll like it. :)
There's an open mic poetry night in February, too, but I can't remember the date for it - I'll have to check when I get to work. I've been meaning to bring a calendar home with me for the last two days. Ditzy me.
I'm hungry, I don't know where my hairbrush is, and the cat keeps trying to leap on the keyboard. I think I'd better stop writing now.
