cleaning the kitty litter is not a fun thing. cleaning the kitty litter and discovering that the top of the dome which holds the "make it not stink" charcoal filter thingy has broken off is even more not fun. bah!!!

well, hopefully that's gotten my bad luck for the day out of the way.

i haven't watched doctor who in a while. i want to fix that sometime soon. i'd really love to see the caves of androzanni again, as I've only seen it once, and it's really good. maybe this weekend, when we're not driving to the moon and back, we'll have a chance to just sit and veg. watch some who, watch some narnia... yeah, it'll be good. i've got four days off this weekend, but i don't know how much of it will be spent on the drive.

stuff i gotta do:
clean my desk. it's even more uber messy than usual, and as the cat has taken to playing with my mouse, i need a place to hide it when it's not in use.
more laundry. bah.
find a home for all these books... i must have more than a hundred stripped books and about fifty other books just floating around. some of them are in a big box in the living room (which Stranger loves to sharpen his non-existent claws on), but a great many are just scattered willy nilly, hither and yon.
read my new HTML book! i do all my HTML by hand, and i pride myself on complying with standards and being visible with (just about) any browser and all that, but er... i haven't actually been standard's compliant for about three years now. who loves ya, o'reilly.
eat lunch...ooo, that sounds good... ~wanders off to scrounge for food~

silliness

background: when i first met todd, we would often say very silly things to avoid talking about things we didn't want to talk about. "so, when are you going to move out of your parents house?" "um... look! a walrus!" so, a bit after that, to commemorate our general silliness, i got todd this absolutely adorable small stuffed walrus. the walrus has a perch of honor on top of one of todd's speakers on his desk, where either of us can easily point to it for handy dandy distraction. ;)

this morning todd was lamenting over the state of the walrus. whenever Stranger jumps up on his desk to be pesky (quite often) he knocks the walrus down. it's accidental, but the walrus is still pretty darn abused.

todd: we should tie it down or something.
me: the only reason that walrus stayed on its perch is because it was nailed there!

ok, so it was a lot of lead up, but i think the payoff was worth it. ;)

i want to go out to lunch. with todd. who is at work. this should not be complicated... i call, he comes, we eat, i go to work, yadda yadda... but alas, the phone at the office is busy. i have this sinking feeling that when i do get through, he'll have gone to eat with someone else. fah.

CodePink, women for peace. I love it, particularly the bit about giving a "pink slip" to Bush and company! It's always refreshing to find creative, cool people involved in stuff I believe in. Time to sign up!
