so. i'm due in at work at ten tomorrow morning. i'm mega tired, but still full of the "i've been moving all day" kind of energy i get after a long day of work, and i don't know if i'll be able to get to sleep. :/

did you know that there are magazines for : kitchen redecoration ideas, philosophers, buffy the vampire slayer, and world war two airplanes? like, whole magazines. that you can subscribe to. who redoes their ktichen often enough to justify a subscription to kitchen redecoation ideas magazine (or any of the ten or twelve look-a-like magazines shelved near it)? so, yeah, there were a lot of stray magazines to put away tonight.

i dreamed last night of light streaming in through heavy stained glass windows, gilded with gold, and the reflection of stars in still, cold water. there was so much more than those disconnected images, but that's all i've held onto through the day. light and reflected light.

i think i'll take a shower, let the super hot water (which is all too short lived - i want a hot water tank the size of the moon, please) relax me so i'll get some sleep tonight, perhaps.

oh yes, i nearly forgot. someone at work tonight thought i was middle aged. insult of the evening award goes to that customer. i'm twenty-seven. i don't look old. i don't i don't i don't. :(

this close-open-close-open-close-close-open kind of schedule has got me all upfucked. evidently i'm one of those folks who needs an uber regular sleeping schedule, or i don't get any sleep at all. gah.

~yawns~ yadda yadda, i'm tired, work work work, tired tired tired. i'm beginning to sound like a broken record in some of these entries, i think. so, time to branch out a bit.

i'm reading the professor and the madman right now, and enjoying it very much. it's obvious that the author really loves words, and I can dig anyone that geeky. i really enjoy the historical aspects of the text - it's super cool to learn about the history of dictionaries. no, really, it is! ~ahem~ anyway, i'm also still plodding through the club dumas, which is one of the slowest murder mysteries i've ever read, but hey, it's in the bathroom, so it gets read. ;) i'm going to reread to kill a mockingbird next week, as i'm "leading" the book discussion group for it this month (ooo lead-y). i've got stacks and stacks of books all over the house which i'm (theoretically) in the middle of, but i'm not making much progress. i think after mockingbird, i'm going to really dive into smoke and mirrors, a collection of neil gaiman short stories i got for my birthday. i also want more charles de lint. like, now. ;) but i'll wait. also also want to read harry potter numero five-o. (yes, i know the spanish word for five. i just choose to pretend that i don't). but if i keep listing books that i want to read, this will go on and on and on, and it's already done that, a bit.

wow. i'm suddenly craving chocolate. will...power... must... resist... aw, what the hell. i'll have a hershey's kiss.

on the plate for tonight: i dunno, really. todd said something about roleplaying (but with a lot of maybes and caveats thrown in, so i'm not getting my hopes up too much) and that would be cool. if we don't do that, i think i'd like to finally watch some of the narnia dvds i got for my birthday (my parents utterly rocked this year with the gift stuff). i haven't read the chronicles of narnia in ages and ages, but i really enjoyed them, back in the day. once i figured out that they were allegories i was a bit miffed ("heeeeeeey, aslan's jesus. that's lame. it was way cooler when he was just a lion.") but i still maintain that they're good stories, particularly if you can ignore the blatant allegory. ;) so, roleplaying (escapism), fantasy movie (escapism), or ...wait for it... escapism in some other form. reading is (obviously) always high up there on the list, but i've been having fun playing computer games lately too. hrm. wonder if i'm a bit escapist these days... heh. these days, nothin'. i've always been this way. and i like it. :) off to other worlds with me...
